Gain Qualifications, Fly with Confidence – Your Safety in the Air

Why is it worth obtaining additional pilot ratings?

Holding a Private Pilot Licence PPL(A) is only the beginning. To feel truly confident in all conditions, it is worth developing your skills through additional courses that enhance both flight safety and comfort.

Night flying (Night VFR rating – NVFR) and instrument flying (Instrument Rating – IR) allow pilots to operate in night conditions or reduced visibility. The NVFR course prepares pilots for night operations, teaching safe flying after sunset. Professionally equipped airfield lighting – such as that at Modlin Airport – significantly supports training and enhances comfort during night operations.

The IR(A) rating permits flight operations during both day and night using instrument navigation, enabling flight in more challenging meteorological conditions and within controlled airspace, even without visual reference to the ground. IR(A) training is partially conducted using the modern ALSIM AL250 simulator, which replicates the behaviour of both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft, making the training highly realistic.

If your ambitions extend beyond single-engine aircraft, the Multi-Engine Piston MEP(L) rating is well worth considering. It qualifies pilots to operate twin piston-engine aircraft, and practical training is conducted on the Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche, equipped with two reliable 160 HP Lycoming engines and capable of reaching speeds of up to 330 km/h.

Flying the twin-engine Comanche is not only a highly enjoyable experience, but above all a safer one – even in the event of a single engine failure, the aircraft remains fully controllable.

Completing NVFR, IR(A), and MEP(L) training is a key step on the path to a professional pilot career. Even if a professional aviation career is not your goal, obtaining these ratings significantly increases the safety and comfort of your flights, allowing you to fly with confidence in almost all conditions.
